Imagine a world without rain, i mean wouldn’t it be nice? Like no more wet clothes, no umbrellas, no rain coats etc…
When i think of a world without rain, i picture hot days. God knows i hate the heat, i am so uncomfortable with the sun burning and the feeling of being in a furnace. One merely have dry air to breath.
Imagine a world without winter and autumn, without the cold weather. These times of the year are some people favorite weather because of the snow etc…
As for me, I cannot imagine a world without rain or sun, not because it is impossible but because i am at some point comfortable with how the World has been made.
There’s a special thing you might only see after the rainfall, we may be thinking at the same thing or not, but it is a promise of someone who always holds his promises. After the rain the rainbow. The rainbow represents the good things coming after the hardships
Like a rainbow after the rain, there’s always a good thing after the pain
We all go through different situations in our lives, we have the cold weather and the warm weather. We have moments of turbulence and moments of happiness, the Hills and the valleys. This is just how life goes you have ups and downs but never doubt of the work/plans of God for your life.
We as human being tend to believe that a life without turbulences exist, let me tell you it doesn’t! It is the way we all deal with these turbulences that makes the difference. Every single person on this heart has his problem, some people show it some don’t. We also assume that if someone is in grief he must show it otherwise we don’t believe it.
Whether christian or not we all like when all things are under control, when the sky is blue and everyone is happy. Some Christians think that when they are going through hardship God is not because if He was there, then there would be no hardship.
Truth is the difficulties we experience in this life take on new meaning. They are a means through which God works to accomplish His will in our lives: to shape us so that we reflect the character of Christ. cf. the stories of the apostles, Job and many other in the bible
“Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny” C.S. Lewis
Another Truth is that they may be the consequences of bad/wrong choices. Does it means God is not there? No, no matter what we face God is always there, he promises he was going to be there. This promise goes to his Children. The bible says: ” Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?” Romans 8:35 here is the answer:
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, Or nor heavenly rulers neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8: 37-39
Personally i have experienced God more in the pain than in the joy, because pain pushes me to my limits, it forces me to dig deep and find the reason why all this these are happening to me and what i can do against it or what God wants me to learn.
During our weekly bible study i came to realize or let me say it this way, one of my fellow friend said: everything that happens to us is a result of a prayer. We often ask God for more obedience, self control, patience, discipline but when God teaches us these things through adversity, we are the first to call and cry to him. But when we stay faithful til the end, we are granted what we asked for.
Not every blessing comes with adversity, all i can say is God’s ways are not our ways, they are better!
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
and do not return to it without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the
eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
