The bible and me

It’s a promise

Hey Friends, i hope you are having/had a good day. This post treats of the life as a christian 🙂

This Morning i read the following verse (votd)

1 john 2: 15-16

“15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love is not in them

16For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.

17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

It has a clear message and you don’t need explanation to understand. While reading this i thought of my own life. The thoughts i’ve been having these days (something i am not proud of) This bible text reminds me where my focus should be, it also reminds me that as a christian i should live in sanctification. I don’t belong to this world and i shall not be attracted to what it has to offer because i have everything i need in the Lord.

This bible verses are a reminder: If you love the World you don’t belong to christ. It goes on explaining what “WORLD” means to our God: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Our desire shouldn’t rule our life, it is not because you want fame or need a husband that you should try all things (and even give up on your faith/ on christ) in order to get to it.

For a better understanding of this verses, read the whole chapter (1 john 2). You may go to church every sunday but if you don’t act like Jesus then maybe you don’t love him (i didn’t write it but i strongly believe it). That’s the reason why i try my best to follow the path of Jesus. It is not easy but i know he is the only one who can help me archieve it. “i can do all things through him who strengtens me”

The following verses from the psalm gives us an insight into what awaits the righteous and it is a promise.

The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.
They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green,
proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.” Psalm 92: 12-15

And psalm 1 reveals us the fate of the wicked and those who do not delight theirself in the Lord
“Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.” psalm 1:4-6 NIV
